Garden Party
Have you ever found yourself with thousands of photos of cool leaves and no real use for them? Well I have.
From 35mm to the Canon Elf to the iPhone, I've collected photos of leaves, flowers, textures, the way light moves through a petal. And I file them away with vague intentions.
Garden Party is the result of one of those intentions. A 24-page hand-illustrated botanical coloring book full of flowers, butterflies, teacups, citrus, and leaves. Every page drawn by hand, with my own photography as reference.
This was something I struggled with a bit, letting go of perfection for organic beauty. I absolutely loved every moment. The joy was purely selfish and I would have been just as happy if no one had ever seen it. But I'm a millennial, so of course I posted it on Insta.
Turns out, a few people wanted to color it with me. Over 10k of them found their way to the project on Instagram, and hundreds bought copies — digital downloads, individual pages, the full set.
I'm proud of what I created. Not because of the numbers, but because I made something real, finished it, and loved every moment.
Garden Party is available as a digital download. If you'd like a copy, just reach out.
